Version 2.0

Since the adoption of the Landfill Project Protocol in November 2007, the California Registry received valuable feedback from stakeholders suggesting revisions to the protocol. Based largely on this feedback, the California Registry revised the protocol throughout the fall of 2008, and released it in draft form for a month-long public review. After incorporating much of the feedback from this public comment process, the final version 2.0 was approved by the California Registry board on November 17, 2008.

Landfill Protocol Development

The California Registry began development of the Landfill Project Protocol in July 2007. The technical workgroup met from July through to October during which time drafts of the protocol were made available for public comment. A public workshop was co-hosted by California Air Resources Board and California Integrated Waste Management Board in November 2007 to discuss the public comments received on the draft protocol and to encourage further public feedback (workshop presentation slides). Staff made final revisions to the protocol in November and it was adopted by the California Registry Board on November 29, 2007.
